R e l e a s e. . .

 

Let go of all that is my past

like words on paper discarded

shredded, torn, strewn upon the ground

let it be carried by the wind,

twirling, whirling, dancing,

– scattered away

 

 

Let go of all that was before

like spent air turned sour

held deep within our lungs, unrelenting in our chest

let it loose into the universe

exploding, expanding, dispersing

– exhaled out

 

 

Let go of old ego, self and id

like old lovers who never call

bitter, self-absorbed, their passion rendered impotent

let them loose upon themselves

consuming, devouring, imploding

 

–       cast off.
